::ARTS, BUSINESS, EDUCATION (ABE) AWARDS

The 29th annual ABE Luncheon honoring the Arts and Arts Educators takes place on Wed., April 16th, 2008, 11:30 - 1:30, at the Antlers Hilton.  Cost is $30 per person.

Each
year ABE hosts this luncheon to honor educators, businesses and local citizens who contribute significantly to the arts in education. At the luncheon, awards for innovative and exemplary arts programs are presented by the Center for Nonprofit Excellence, the Bee Vradenburg Foundation, the Pikes Peak Arts Council, The Colorado Springs Business Journal and the ABE Consortium. Also during the luncheon, selected elementary and middle school students from the Pikes Peak region are awarded The Mary Lou Anderson Scholarships to be used to take classes in the visual arts, dance, music, theater and the literary arts. Pikes Peak Arts Council ABE Awards Criteria Guidelines

The Arts Business Education Consortium includes representatives from arts organizations, business and education leaders, and parent groups. The purpose of the committee is to enhance the quality of cultural life in Colorado Springs by ensuring that children have arts experiences in the schools. The Consortium’s special focus is raising awareness concerning the importance of arts education.
